Syrians travelling back home risk losing Swedish residence permits

The Migration Agency says Syrians in Sweden who travel home risk losing their Swedish residence permits.

Since the fall of the Assad regime, hundreds of people have reportedly made the journey to Syria from Sweden despite the Swedish Foreign Ministry issuing advice not to travel.

"I felt that I needed to go there and be with my relatives and loved ones and celebrate with them," says May Samhouri in Svalöv in the south of Sweden, who recently returned from a visit to Syria.
