Swedish Radio closes Ukrainian news service
Publicerad 31 mar 2025 · kl 13:06 · 2:22 min
Set-up two months after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Radio Sweden's Ukrainian service is closing down today, Monday.
Producer Karl Volkohon says there have been thousands of news stories published about and for Ukrainians in Sweden since April 2022 that have probably helped people a lot.
Swedish Radio management says the decision to end the service has been made because there is no longer a large need for news in Ukrainian because there are fewer Ukrainians coming to Sweden and those that are here are learning Swedish.
