Sweden rattled as 12-year-old is linked to fatal shooting in Malmö
After years of growing alarm that ever-younger children are being drawn into serious crime, a twelve-year-old boy is now suspected in a fatal shooting in Malmö.
National Police Commissioner Petra Lundh says this is the first time she has heard of someone so young suspected in a deadly shooting. Twelve-year-olds have in the past been suspected of carrying out explosions, planting hand grenades and transporting weapons and running errands for criminal groups, she says.
Psychologist Anna Norlén calls the trend alarming and says early prevention - as early as under the age of six - is crucial.
