  • Every year around 1,500 people in Sweden die by suicide, and men make up 70 per cent of that figure. That's according to a new report out today from charity Suicide Zero.

  • The organisation works to lower suicide rates in Sweden, and says it is concerned the current economic situation can increase the risk of death by suicide among men.

  • "Our economy is slowing down and there might be a risk of people losing their jobs ... It's a difficult thing that could affect the rates of suicide as well," says Rickard Bracken, Suicide Zero's secretary general.
