Liberals: Choking someone during sex should be outlawed

Publicerad 30 okt 2025 · kl 07:11 · 2:23 min
  • Sweden's Equality Minister Nina Larsson of the Liberal Party says choking or strangulation during sex is increasingly common in Sweden, particularly among young people.

  • She is now calling for an inquiry into setting up new legislation that will make it a criminal offence punishable by law.

  • "We can't have a situation where we risk normalising violence or rape and that we have to put up with different forms of violence. It's completely unacceptable, and therefore it's important to legislate against this," says Minister for Gender Equality, Nina Larsson.
