Justice Minister on proposals to remove Swedish citizenship: ”I had hoped for a more offensive proposal”
Publicerad 15 jan 2025 · kl 16:28 · 4:39 min
The Swedish parliament's constitutional committee proposes revoking Swedish citizenship for dual citizens in cases of severe crimes against the state, such as terrorism, or if they lied when applying.
Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer from the Moderate Party supports the proposal but wants it to go further, also targeting gang leaders abroad.
"I see this more as a process to make Sweden a better place to live, to make Sweden a little bit more normal. Not to least in a Nordic context", says Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer.
