Visitors to the spring auction at Bukowski's, a fine arts auctioneer in central Stockholm, got a nasty surprise today as three armed men walked in and stole jewellery estimated at a value of more than 1.5 million dollars, Swedish news agency TT reports.

Witnesses say that the men came in shortly aftter lunch and left within five minutes using a gray Skoda Fabia as a getaway car. Police later found the abandoned car near Stockholm’s central station a few blocks away from the auction.

But the police do not know where the masked men fled after dumping the car, and a large manhunt is now underway.

No one suffered physical injuries in the attack, although a number of Bukowski's employees came away shocked from the burglary.
